Rosemary Gillham

Psychodynamic Counsellor & Psychotherapist, BACP Accredited

Areas of experience:
Loss, bereavement, depression, relationship difficulties, individual therapy and couples therapy.

Rosemary is a BACP Accredited Psychodynamic Counsellor and Psychotherapist with over 30 years’ experience, practising in the centre of Hitchin. She has a particular interest in loss, bereavement, depression and relationship difficulties, and offers both long-term and brief therapy for individuals and couples.

Rosemary views counselling as an opportunity to talk openly about whatever may be troubling someone with a professional who is independent of their personal life. Working collaboratively, she helps clients explore their difficulties and consider how experiences and relationships from the past may be influencing the present. This can help recurring patterns of behaviour to be recognised, understood and, where appropriate, changed.

Rather than telling clients what to do, Rosemary encourages them to develop their own understanding and find their own answers, enabling them to discover more effective ways of managing and resolving difficulties in everyday life. The therapeutic process can sometimes be challenging or painful, but the changes that emerge are those developed and made by the client themselves.
